It's been quite a few years since we have posted any news regarding XWT's server or maintenance. Over the past year or so I am sure a lot of you have noticed general lag and site slow downs on XWT. For some time, we tried to manage this by caching parts of the site, but recently even that wasn’t enough. The truth is, with nearly 100,000 peers connected to our tracker, our hardware simply couldn’t handle the load anymore.
I am happy to share that this morning, we successfully migrated XWT to a new server with significantly more processing power and RAM. We have also spent the past few weeks overhauling our backend services to ensure we can continue to grow for many more years to come.
I am sure right now you can tell just how much of an improvement this has made on load times. These changes have also now allowed us to remove our site-wide ban on The Netherlands!
This means that we no longer have a whitelist for seedbox users and you now no longer need to message staff to have your Seedbox IP whitelisted! We have already seen the affect this has had on XWT as we have gained an additional 8,000 peers in the past few hours!
This upgrade is a vital step to make sure that we can continue to offer great wrestling content without any technical issues. Of course, there is an additional monthly cost for our new server, but we simply couldn't continue using our outdated hardware anymore. There are still 48 hours left in our monthly 2x Upload Credit Offer, so if you enjoy using XWT and would like to help support the upgraded server costs, please consider making a donation of any amount.
