Tori Kelly has reflected on her recent health scare.
In July 2023, the singer was rushed to hospital after collapsing due to life-threatening blood clots around her vital organs.
In a new interview with People, Tori reflected on how her health scare has changed her outlook on life.
"When I look at just my life, my career and getting to go on these tours, I'm just like, 'I don't want to take anything for granted because life as I now have experienced is so fragile,'" the 31-year-old told the publication. "I'm just holding people a little closer."
Tori shared that she now feels "amazing" and only has to take a "simple medication" to aid her recovery, and is occasionally "going in for checkups" to make sure she is fit and healthy.
In the midst of her health scare, the Grammy winner released her self-titled EP, Tori, on 28 July 2023. Three weeks later, she embarked on her first North American tour since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Friday, the singer-songwriter released, Tori., her fifth studio album. The newly released album includes her song High Water, which was inspired by her health emergency.
"I was able to really process what had happened, and I am a late processor," Tori shared. "I think it helps me in my songwriting though, because I'm able to think back and be like, 'Oh, that's how I felt. OK, let me channel that feeling.'"
