She's a global phenomenon and arguably the biggest pop star of the decade – but the Midnights singer was blown away by the size of the audience at her concert in Melbourne, Australia last night.
“If I seem a little bit like I’m losing my mind over the fact that there are 96,000 people here tonight ... it’s because it’s true,” Taylor told the crowd.
She went on to explain that the audience size at the Melbourne Cricket Ground comprised the largest she had ever performed in front of.
"This is the biggest show that we’ve ever done," Taylor gushed.
"I’m fully starstruck by the fact so many people wanted to hang out with us on a Friday night in Melbourne!”
The singer, 34, also thrilled Swifties – the nickname adopted by her adoring fans – by revealing new insights about her upcoming album Tortured Poets Department, and describing it as a "lifeline".
“I’m very excited for April 19th," Taylor admitted.
"I can’t wait for you to hear all the songs. Tortured Poets is an album I think, more than any album I’ve made, is one I needed.
"It was a lifeline for me. It reminded me why songwriting is something that gets me through life.”
