Last night, we identified an independent app used for application screening was targeted with an exploit. This caused some Apache server issues and concerns so the site was taken down for maintenance.
To cover all security aspects the following precautions have been completed.
1. The entire VPC has been stopped and the storage archived for RCA.
2. A brand spanking new VPC has launched using the latest LTS releases.
3. The app affected has been removed from our project.
4. Our primary code base and databases restored from backup.
We jumped some major releases on server OS, web server and rev proxy software. We expect to see a few at least a few bugs caused by this on our front-end which will be identified and resolved as timely as possible.
For now our site and tracker are safely operating in a safe & clean environment.
