Hello everyone. This is a message to those who got permanent VIP in another era offered by people who probably had their own interest and dream to live off of it.
In May 2020, following the merger of MyXZ, SceneFZ and IceTorrent under the SpeedApp umbrella, unlimited VIP was removed, and its beneficiaries were limited to the maximum 5 years available then (and now). 5 years later, in May 2025, the "unlimited" VIP expired.
Unlimited VIP was always a desperate move by our predecessors (and some smaller trackers, who continue to do so) to convince people to donate, but we all knew (the team, but also the users) that it was not sustainable and we all chose to close our eyes. If everyone donated for unlimited VIP, the site would inevitably become bankrupt.
The decision to limit VIP is an unpopular one but, like the fiscal measures that our elected officials avoid taking, it was a measure for the good of the community, a measure to ensure longevity. 5 years later, SpeedApp is still here.
We hope you understand the situation and we assure you, whether you support us or not, that no one from the current staff touches donations and that they are used exclusively to keep this site alive. No member of the staff has any kind of material advantage and they all do it for one reason, PASSION. We are all now, let's say, in our second youth, with families, problems and priorities that are often more important than keeping this site alive. But still, as long as this "microbe", passion and users like you who help keep this site alive, it will live.
