Peter Gabriel has announced the release date of his first album of new material in 21 years.
After teasing the project with a steady stream of singles over the last 12 months, the Sledgehammer singer, 73, has confirmed his tenth album, titled I/O, will be unveiled on 1 December.
"After a years-worth of full moon releases, I'm very happy to see all these new songs back together on the good ship I/O and ready for their journey out into the world," the musician said in a statement.
Collaborations with Brian Eno, XL Recordings owner Richard Russell, guitarist David Rhodes, bassist Tony Levin, drummer Manu Katché and pianist Tom Cawley are set to feature on the album.
Peter shared the first single, Panopticom, back in January, marking his first new song since 2016.
The musician first rose to fame as the original lead singer of the progressive rock band Genesis, which formed in Surrey in 1967.
The band's original line-up was comprised of Peter, keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and drummer/singer Phil Collins.
Following his exit from the band in 1975, Peter went on to enjoy a highly successful solo career, releasing hits such as Don't Give Up and Sledgehammer.
