The talk, titled ‘Developing Virtual Reality Experiences with the Oculus Rift’ will be hosted by Oculus VR software architecht Tom Forsyth and will take place at 17:30 CEST on Tuesday, 12th August. A description for the event reveals that Forsyth will be discussing the differences in developing VR videogames, looking at the most important challenges that designers and developers will face working with the Oculus Rift.
“Programmers and designers will gain an understanding of the differences between traditional monitor-based experiences and those in VR, along with the physiological mechanisms behind our perception, and how they can go wrong. Examples of animation techniques, first-person avatars and how players are aware of scale will be given,” the description explains, also confirming that a prior knowledge of VR will not be necessary.
VRFocus will be in Germany for Gamescom, bringing you all the latest VR updates.
