LA Reid has been sued by a former music executive for alleged sexual assault.

According to court documents obtained by Reuters, former music executive Drew Dixon filed a sexual assault lawsuit in Manhattan federal court on Wednesday against the A&R representative.

The suit sought unspecified compensatory and punitive damages, claiming Reid derailed her music industry career after he became Arista Records' chief executive. Dixon recalled rejecting Reid's advances while the pair worked together, and suffering two assaults in 2001.

She filed under New York's Adult Survivors Act, which gave sexual assault victims a one-year window to sue perpetrators even if the statutes of limitations had expired. The window is set to close this month.

Dixon previously participated in the 2020 documentary On The Record, which detailed sexual misconduct accusations against Russell Simmons.

She also previously accused Reid of misconduct in December 2017, seven months after he left his position as Epic Records chief.

At the time, Reid told the New York Times of the accusation, "I'm proud of my track record promoting, supporting and uplifting women at every company I've ever run. That notwithstanding, if I have ever said anything capable of being misinterpreted, I apologize unreservedly."
