John Mayer "absolutely" wants to get married one day.
During a recent interview for Kelly Rizzo's Comfort Food podcast, the singer-songwriter admitted he has high hopes for his love life and wants to settle down eventually.
"People don't think I want to be married. I absolutely want to be married," he enthused. "I so badly want to get married if only for my wife to just know in her heart, like, 'John will know what to do.' I just think that level of being relied on is the hottest thing in the world to me. 'If my husband was here, he would know what to do. Call John. Call my husband.'"
The musician is known for having relationships with some of the world's most high profile and beautiful women. He has previously dated celebrities including Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry.
Famously, John likened his nine-month relationship with Jessica in the mid-2000s to "sexual napalm".
He said: "That girl, for me, is a drug. And drugs aren't good for you if you do lots of them. Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me."
Yet, during their short time together, John allegedly split up with Jessica nine times.
Later, the I Wanna Love You Forever singer said his comments about her were "disrespectful".
Many fans believe Taylor's Dear John was written about her former partner, while John's Paper Doll is rumoured to be about the Shake It Off hitmaker.
