Today we've rolled out our very own IRC Shoutbox on the hawke-uno homepage.
Yes, that's the new IRC chat box you're seeing where you're authenticated right into our main channel #huno as yourself!
We've copied over the modern and sleek-looking design from our old Discord widget to keep the familiar look our users were comfortable with. But underneath it all it's entirely IRC, authenticated securely and directly via the website to our IRC server.
What this essentially means is we've finally abandoned the highly insecure Discord front-end from the last two years. It also means that users on HUNO can chat independently on a secure platform.
We have kept our IRC<>Discord bridge between #huno and #basement, respectively, to make sure that users from our Discord community can also continue to participate here.
Looking forward to sharing the new and improved community space with you.
