Delta Goodrem surprises passersby at St. Pancras International with impromptu piano performance
The Australian singer, songwriter and actress stunned visitors with her piano performance and impressive vocals following two special concerts celebrating the 20th anniversary of her album Mistaken Identity
Today, London St. Pancras International played host to inspiring Australian singer, Delta Goodrem, with an impromptu piano performance. The performance follows Delta’s two concerts at the Hackney Empire celebrating the 20th anniversary of her album Mistaken Identity.
Delta brought her powerful vocals and over 20 years’ experience as a pianist to one of London’s busiest stations with a performance of her classics including Born to try, Wings, Not me Not I, Lost without you, Predictable, In this life, Hearts on the Run and a few surprise covers.
The album Mistaken Identity holds deep personal significance for Goodrem, as it was written during her battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma at age 18. The 2025 tour marks the first time she has performed the album live in its entirety, offering fans an intimate and emotional experience.
The performance follows in the footsteps of GRAMMY® award winners Alicia Keys and Nora Jones, Jeff Goldblum, and dynamic duo Rod Stewart and Jools Holland. Other world-class performers to have graced the famous St. Pancras piano include Elton John, John Legend, Tom Odell, and James Arthur.
London St. Pancras International has become renowned for regular performances from stars, talented members of the public and visitors from afar, becoming an important part of the atmosphere and culture of the station. The pianos were launched at St. Pancras International in 2012 when the City of London Festival celebrated its golden anniversary and have remained available to play ever since. This iconic destination has been home to two public pianos generously donated by musical legends, the first by Sir Elton John and the current ‘Phantom Piano’ from Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Delta Goodrem says, “As a piano girl, I’ve always been drawn to a good piano sing-along and every piano has a story! There’s something so special about gathering around music and watching it bring people together, even if just for a few minutes. I’ve seen people light up around the St. Pancras International pianos, and I love that it lives here, encouraging spontaneous moments of joy and creativity. I’m so grateful I got to have another sing here with people while I’m on ground in the UK!"
