Beyoncé has made history by becoming the first Black woman to hit Number One on the U.S. country music chart.

The Crazy In Love singer has taken the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart with Texas Hold 'Em, which she surprised released during the Super Bowl earlier this month.

She has also become the second female solo act to debut a song at Number One on that chart, following Taylor Swift's Love Story and All Too Well re-releases in 2021.

And that's not all - she has also made history by becoming the first woman to top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since they began in 1958. Morgan Wallen, Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus and Ray Charles have previously achieved this feat.

On the main Billboard Hot 100 chart, Texas Hold 'Em debuted at Number Two.

During the Super Bowl on 11 February, Beyoncé announced her ninth studio album Renaissance Act II, which will be released on 29 March. To celebrate the announcement, she simultaneously released Texas Hold 'Em and another song, 16 Carriages.

The latter debuted at Number 38 on the Hot 100 and Number Nine on Hot Country Songs.

While some country music stations have refused to play the new tracks, country stars Maren Morris and Lainey Wilson have recently praised Beyoncé's new crossover.

"I think the leaning into country elements, and sort of reclaiming country music back to Black people, because they created the genre, is such a statement," Maren told E! News, while Lainey said to Extra, "I love it. The more the merrier."
