Ben Sawyer has signed a two-year extension as New Zealand Women's head coach, NZC confirmed. The new deal will see Sawyer being in charge of the side until December 2026.

Sawyer was first appointed in June 2022 and under his leadership, the team went on to win the T20 World Cup in October this year for the very first time. He will now have a chance at retaining the title in 2026 when the tournament is held in England. Sawyer will also be at the helm when New Zealand attempt to win the ODI World Cup next year in India.

"We're so pleased to have Ben sign on for another two years," NZC Head of Women's High Performance Liz Green said. "He's unlocked a lot of belief and trust in this group and to have him stay now is massive, both for the current squad and the long-term planning for the WHITE FERNS.

"Many of our young players who made their international debut on Ben's first tour two years ago are starting to thrive, as we saw in the recent T20 World Cup. There was a huge amount of growth during that tournament, a result of what Ben and the coaches have been building over the last two years."

New Zealand's next assignment will be at home against Australia this month with the three ODIs scheduled to be held on 19, 21 and 23.
