RZA has praised Andre 3000's instrumental flute album.
The OutKast rapper, real name André Benjamin, sent shockwaves through the hip-hop world earlier this month when he released New Blue Sun - an 87-minute long album of experimental flute music.
On Wednesday, TMZ asked the Wu-Tang Clan member for his thoughts on the release while on the streets of New York.
"That album is on repeat in my house. Me and my wife... we just sit down and it keeps us very zen in the crib," RZA, 54, replied. "I'm happy washing the dishes! It's a good vibe."
The Protect Ya Neck rapper went on to congratulate Andre 3000, before revealing that the album has inspired him to work on new material of his own.
"I'm actually gonna give another instrumental album myself," he told the publication. "Hip-hop is gonna show you there is no limits to what we do."
When TMZ asked RZA whether his new album could "potentially save hip-hop", the rapper replied, "Hip-hop don't need saving, it's just growing. Hip-hop is like New York City - another skyscraper, baby."
Many fans were left disappointed by New Blue Sun - Andre 3000's first album since OutKast released Idlewild in 2006 - given the music was devoid of any beats or lyrics.
In a recent interview with GQ, the Hey Ya hitmaker defended the project, revealing his age had left him lost for inspiration when it came to rap verses.
"I'm 48 years old. And not to say that age is a thing that dictates what you rap about, but in a way it does," he told the publication. "And things that happen in my life, like, what are you talking about? 'I got to go get a colonoscopy.' What are you rapping about? 'My eyesight is going bad.'
"Do I really want to be 50 years old up there doing that? When I watch other rappers that are my age I commend them, but I just wonder where the inspiration is coming from."
