Rejoice all! The long-awaited Baldur's Gate 3 is finally on the horizon and will be launching for both PC and PS5 within the next couple of months. The official launch date for both platforms is the 3rd of August (PC) and the 6th of September (PS5). The beloved series has been in a sleeper state for quite some time, with numerous side stories such as Dark Alliance helping to fill the void, but having 20 years between sequels is quite something.
Baldur's Gate 3 promises to bring forth a gripping and revolutionary return to classic RPGs, filled with horror, fantasy, action and plenty of nudity. The long-awaited sequel was first announced 4 years ago and has been in early access for quite some time. We took a look and wrote up a preview of Baldur's Gate 3 (which felt like a lifetime ago) and absolutely loved it! But don't worry, if you're PC can't handle the beastly graphics and presentation, it will be coming to PS5 as well, just a month after the PC launch.
For those wondering if Baldur's Gate 3 will come to the Xbox eco-system, then you may have to wait a while still. An Xbox Series X/S version of the game is in the works but is still being worked on for the Series S. Baldur's Gate 3 features split-screen co-op, something rarely seen nowadays, especially for an epic RPG.
But for now, you can pre-order and play Baldur's Gate 3 on Steam and GOG on the 3rd of August and on PS5 on the 6th of September. You can check out the latest gameplay trailer below for PS5.
