Cricketing action continued to be delayed in Kanpur as the third day of the second Test between India and Bangladesh got abandoned without a ball being bowled. It's the second day in a row that no action was possible after day two met a similar a fate due to rain and damp outfield. While heavy rain was a huge factor on the second day, ironically there wasn't a drop of rain on day three which also saw brighter conditions in terms of the sun being out at various points. However, the outfield had enough damp patches that refused to yield and after multiple inspections, play was called off at 2 pm local time.
Only 35 overs have been bowled in the Test match after three days and a draw is now seemingly a foregone conclusion. The forecast for the first three days was always ominous but negligible cricketing action wasn't expected even with those weather predictions. Weather for the final two days is promising and it's now up to the outfield to respond in time for play to resume.
