Taylor Swift has admitted she had a backup plan for revealing her new album.
The superstar announced the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, during her acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal at the Grammys on Monday.
Now she's admitted there was a plan B for announcing the new record if she hadn't won an award at the prestigious award ceremony.
She told fans at her Tokyo show that if she hadn't taken the stage at the Grammys, her "backup plan was I was gonna do it tonight in Tokyo.”
She continued telling the audience about her work on the album. "I’ve been working on it for about two years,” she continued.
“I kept working on it throughout the US tour and when it was perfect - in my opinion when it’s good enough for you - I finished it and I am so, so excited that soon you’ll get to hear it. Soon we’ll get to experience that together.”
She added, "I’m over the moon about the fact that you guys care about my music, it still blows my mind. Everyone’s like, ‘Why do you make so many albums?’ I’m like, ‘Man, because I love it. I love it so much.’ I’m having fun, leave me alone.”
