COLLINGWOOD has secured father-son prospect Will Kelly, forced to match a bid from Adelaide for the defender in Friday's NAB AFL Draft second round.
After passing on older brother Jake, now a Crows defender, in the 2014 rookie draft, the Pies had no hesitation in matching the Crows' bid at pick 29.
It sees the Pies part with picks 53, 54 and 64 to reach the required points for Kelly's services, while receiving picks 63 and 99 in return.
The son of premiership Pie Craig, Will improved by the week during 2018, impressing for Oakleigh Chargers in defence before missing the end of the year with an ankle fracture.
Standing 194cm, he is set to bolster a Pies defence that will be missing Matt Scharenberg and Lynden Dunn early in 2018 following knee reconstructions.
It comes after the Pies were forced to match Greater Western Sydney's bid at pick 13 to land Next Generation Academy defender Isaac Quaynor in Thursday night's first round.
