Paloma Faith has hit back at Glastonbury critics and implored them to give female performers "a break".
Female Glastonbury acts such as Shania Twain, Cyndi Lauper and SZA were plagued with sound issues, Dua Lipa was accused of miming during her performance, and festival bosses were criticised for giving SZA the Sunday headlining slot.
Paloma addressed the "appalling" criticism aimed at her fellow female Glasto performers on Monday by issuing a blistering statement on her Instagram Stories.
"The way people criticise the women who performed a @glastofest on line is absolutely appalling," she wrote. "I think people need to understand that women are not on stage to be ridiculed and shamed we are there in all our boss b**ch power and we stand by one another. I want you all to know we read your comments and we absorb them and they aren't good for our spirits. SO GIVE WOMEN A GODDAMN BREAK."
The Picking Up the Pieces singer, who performed at the Somerset festival on Sunday, gave a shout-out to Dua, SZA, Little Simz and Janelle Monae, stating that they were her favourites at Glastonbury because of their "entertainment power and talent".
Paloma's festival set was thrown into doubt on Friday after she cancelled a performance in Southampton that night because she needed to rest her voice. However, she managed to pull through for her Pyramid Stage set on Sunday afternoon.
