Newcastle United and Arsenal will return to Premier League action at the St. James’ Park as both sides will lock horns on matchday 11.

Newcastle are coming into this match after beating Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford. However, Arsenal suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of London rivals West Ham United.

Match Preview
Eddie Howe’s side are coming into this game after a big win against Manchester United in Carabao Cup 4th round. They will now face Chelsea in the quarter-finals.

Newcastle United also ended their two-game winless streak following a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and a 2-2 draw against Wolves in the league.

The Magpies are now on 17 points after 10 matches and sit 6th in the table. Man City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa, all sit above Newcastle United in the table.

Newcastle are more than capable of beating Arsenal, and they can also dent their unbeaten streak and push for the top four.

Arsenal lost 3-1 against West Ham United at the London Stadium in Carabao Cup 4th round. Some fans will say that an early exit is a blessing as the Gunners aim for big trophies like the Premier League and the Champions League this season.

A 5-0 win and a Eddie Nketiah hat-trick last weekend ensured that Arsenal remain unbeaten in the Premier League after 10 matches. Arteta’s team sit in second place, just behind Spurs.

Moreover, the Gunners defeated the Magpies 2-0 at St James’ Park six months ago. But a very close affair is expected this week as Newcastle have improved their squad.

Newcastle United team news
Newcastle have a long list of injured players, as Javier Manquillo, Lewis Miley, Alexander Isak, Sven Botman, Elliot Anderson, Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes are all out for this match.

Sandro Tonali is also out, as he has been suspended for 10 months. Despite scoring a beautiful goal against Man United, ex-Arsenal man Joe Willock will miss this match.

Bruno Guimaraes, Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Almiron and Wilson will all return to the starting XI.

Arsenal team news
Arteta has revealed that Emile Smith Rowe has suffered a new knee injury and will be out for a couple of weeks.

Thomas Partey and Gabriel Jesus are also out and won’t be included again before the end of November or the beginning of December. Defender Jurrien Timber remains out to recover from his ACL injury.

However, Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Declan Rice and William Saliba will all return to the starting XI. Aaron Ramsdale will handover the gloves again to Spaniard David Raya.

Newcastle United vs Arsenal: Predicted line-ups
Newcastle United (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Lascelles, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Gordon

Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Odegaard, Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli

Prediction
Newcastle United 1-1 Arsenal
A low-scoring affair is expected in this game, as both teams are strong defensively and would not like to take any risky chances.

Newcastle concede less goal when playing at home, whereas Arsenal have only conceded two goals this season away from home in the Premier League. The Gunners will look to defend their unbeaten streak, and a draw would be a fair result for them.
