Jake Paul and Netflix have a problem, and its name is “Tank.” There’s a long history of domestic abuse allegations against Davis, but it’s another issue entirely when Davis is facing a new civil suit just two weeks removed from his scheduled super fight versus Paul, which is supposed to happen in less than two weeks (Fri., Nov. 14, 2025) from Miami, Florida. The suit alleges Davis abducted and abused a cocktail waitress inside a Miami strip club earlier this year.

KORNBR3ADThat’s not exactly what Netflix wants dominating the airwaves in regards to one of its headlining fighters.
Immediately, news broke that Paul and his team were considering other options to replace Davis. The obvious option that came to the eyes of many was Ryan Garcia, a former Gervonta Davis opponent. “King Ryan” isn’t undefeated like Davis, but he is similarly sized — i.e. much smaller than Jake Paul — and a genuinely elite boxer in his prime.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, Paul’s team has already sent an offer to Garcia, though the bout would be pushed from November to December. He’s not the only option being considered, but it appears that Paul and company are ready to move on from Davis entirely after this latest suit.
Generally, Ryan Garcia checks all the same boxes as “Tank” and would make for a similarly high-profile boxing spectacle. He’s not a perfectly clean character himself, but it’s much easier to overlook a fighter abusing Ostarine and alcohol than a professional boxer who can’t stop hitting women.
Garcia has yet to acknowledge any of this on social media, and the matchup remains unconfirmed at the time of writing. His last boxing match was a unanimous decision loss to Rolando Romero back in May (watch highlights), which dropped his professional record to 24-2 (1) overall.
