Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are set to fight each other in an exhibition match next spring.

Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are stepping into the ring against each other.
On Thursday, CSI Sports announced that Tyson and Mayweather will compete against each other in an exhibition boxing match next spring.
“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather,” Tyson stated in the press release. “I thought, ‘No way this happens,’ but, Floyd said yes.
“This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable—and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.
“I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”
“I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” said Mayweather. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
A boxing Hall of Famer and the former undisputed heavyweight champion, Tyson retired from boxing in 2005 with a record of 50-6 and 2 No-Contests, but came out of retirement last year to face Jake Paul in their Netflix megafight. Tyson, 59, lost the fight by unanimous decision.
Mayweather, 48, is also a boxing Hall of Famer, having won titles across five weight divisions. He retired from boxing in 2017 following his win over Conor McGregor, leaving the sport with a perfect 50-0 record. Since then, Mayweather has participated in a number of exhibition matches, most recently facing John Gotti III last year.
Per the press release, more details about the Tyson-Mayweather will take place on a date and location still to be determined.
