Leonardo Bonucci will take legal action against his former club Juventus, after being frozen out from the team during the summer.

Bonucci has made over 500 appearances for Juventus across his two spells, winning 17 trophies with them. He also helped Italy to win the Euro 2020.

However, last season, the Italian centre-back only played 16 games with only nine starts to his name and was informed he was not part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans. Furthermore, he was also left out of the United States tour and did not receive a squad number.

In the end the 36-year-old decided to join Union Berlin on deadline day. But Bonucci believes Juve damaged him by keeping him out of the first team for several weeks.

According to reports, Bonucci will sue his ex-club, who allegedly did not put him in the right condition to train, breaking the collective agreement with the Italian Association Of Footballers.

Moreover, Bonucci worked at Juventus’ training ground in the evening and at different times from the rest of the team. Furthermore, he never met the technical staff, and was not allowed to use all training facilities. So now, his lawyers will soon file a case against the Italian club.

The defender has also clarified that if he wins the court case, he will donate the sum to Neuroland. Neuroland is a charity hat supports families whose children are recovering in the neurosurgical ward of Turin’s Regina Margherita children’s hospital.

Moreover, it’s a cause close to Bonucci’s heart after one of his sons, Matteo, was cared for by the ward. Bonucci, who has joined Union Berlin recently, announced that he will retire at the end of the current season.
