La Liga champions Barcelona will begin their new year with a trip to Gran Canaria for their clash against La Palmas on matchday 19.
La Palmas sit in ninth place in the table, whereas Barcelona sit 4th, seven points behind Real Madrid and Girona.
Match Preview
For the first time since the 2017/18 season, La Palmas have returned back to La Liga. However, their last game of 2023 ended with a defeat to Athletic Bilbao.
Despite being promoted this season, the Gran Canaria side has won seven games in 18 league matches. Moreover, they are just three points adrift of the top seven ahead of matchday 19.
La Palmas have scored just 15 goals in this campaign, and are among the lowest scorers in the league. Nevertheless, they have conceded just 15 goals, and only Real Madrid have a better record than them.
They have also defeated Atletico Madrid at home this season. A win against Barcelona would be their first win since 1991.

As for Barcelona, they will come into this game after their short winter break, which was much needed after their recent form.
The champions have won 11 games, drawn five and lost two of their 18 La Liga games. They sit 7 points behind joint-leaders Real Madrid and Girona.
Xavi’s side got a crucial 3-2 victory over Almeria, as captain Sergi Roberto scored two goals to give them an important win.
The Catalan giants have dropped points in their last two away games against Rayo Vallecano and Valencia. So, they will look to beat Las Palmas to earn all three points.
