Record-breaking British pop singer-songwriter Jess Glynne played an intimate acoustic gig at The Hawley Arms last night, in celebration of her new single 'Friend of Mine'.
The GRAMMY-winning artist from North London said: "I'm very grateful to be standing on this stage and singing. I feel like I wanted to do this tonight because, firstly, I grew up around here and I had the most fun of my life growing up around here. I feel like the world is heavy at the minute and we need to come together and have joy. I got my family here, I got my friends here and I got all of you lot here. I'm glad that you guys are here to be a part of this journey. This is just the start of this album, I guess. It's coming."
Jess performed six songs: 'I'll Be There', '123', 'Silly Me', 'Promise Me' (a new unreleased song from her forthcoming album), 'Don't Be So Hard On Yourself', and 'Friend of Mine'. The singer partied with fans, family and friends after and even got behind the bar to pull a few pints. Following the release of 'Friend of Mine', Jess Glynne announced a series of summer live shows.
