Jack Harlow debuts at Number 1 on the UK Official Singles Chart today, earning his first career chart-topper with Lovin On Me.
The bouncy rap-pop track, which samples the little-known 1995 R&B cut Whatever by Cadillac Dale, ends the week as the most-streamed track in the UK (5.1 million streams).
It becomes the first-ever UK Number 1 for the Louisville rapper, who has previously claimed three Top 10s; Industry Baby with Lil Nas X (3), First Class (2) and 3D with Jung Kook (5).
Coming in second place is Dua Lipa, who is another new entry at Number 2 with Houdini, the first single from her upcoming third studio album. A punchy, ‘70s psychedelia-inspired banger, Houdini comes with production from Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Danny L Harle. It becomes Dua’s 14th UK Top 10 hit.
Noah Kahan’s Stick Season rises three places to a new peak of Number 5, following weeks of extraordinary breakthrough rise for the Vermont-born singer-songwriter, who earns a second UK Top 20 today with Northern Attitude at Number 16.
Huge congratulations are in order for pioneering drum & bass duo Chase & Status, who become the first group to collect four UK Top 40 singles simultaneously since 2010. The pair, Saul Milton and Will Kennard, achieve Top 40 success with Baddadan featuring Bou, Flowdan, IRAH, Triggah and Takura (10), Liquor and Cigarettes with Hedex and ArrDee (17), Stefflon Don team-up Selecta (27) and Disconnect with Becky Hill (37).
British drill rapper Mazza L20 claims his first-ever Official Singles Chart entry on Murdaside (18), PinkPantheress and Central Cee officially link up for the first time with Nice to meet you (20) and Zara Larsson and David Guetta’s On My Love rises one (21).
Following their record-setting re-entries last week, Christmas classics by Wham! and Mariah Carey are on the up again as the most wonderful time of the year creeps closer. Last Christmas clambers up eleven to Number 26, while All I Want for Christmas Is You rises twelve to Number 28.
And finally, Wheatus’s 2000 classic Teenage Dirtbag jumps four to Number 34 as the track experiences a renaissance on social media. The single peaked at Number 2 upon its release in February 2001.
