Jack Antonoff finds it "exhilarating" his collaborations with Taylor Swift have achieved such phenomenal success.

The Bleachers frontman has worked with the Shake It Off hitmaker on her music since her 2014 album 1989, which launched the former country singer as a pop star.

Over the past nine years, her music has become increasingly popular and last year, she was crowned Spotify's most-streamed artist.

In an interview with GQ, Jack insisted they didn't make the songs with chart domination in mind but it's a satisfying by-product.

"Yeah, that s**t was crazy," he said. "It's very strange, it's like... it's very encouraging. They're not things that were made with the goal of mass consumption. All the songs I make are the same: it's about that feeling. You only have yourself and the room and that tiny group.

"You wouldn't dare care what anyone else thinks; it's not part of the soul of what you do. To see it reach a lot of people is exhilarating."

Jack and Taylor revisited 1989 last year as part of the singer's ongoing album re-releasing project, and the music producer admitted making 1989 (Taylor's Version) took him back to 2014.

"The spirit is the same, but the vibe and the sound is totally different," he explained of the process. "You think about what you love, what you didn't love, how you hurt, who you hurt. You can't be pulled back to a time and not think about the whole time. You're not just thinking about a song, you're thinking about everything I was doing then and all the choices I made."
