Hope this is ok to ask here.
I'm new to capturing my own content and creating my own torrents. Obviously the best piracy secrets (like widevine techniques) are well hidden, but when it comes to stuff like how to screen record, how to do a proper WebRip, how to compress videos for a good torrent (using handbrake), and other stuff, where does a noob go to learn and discuss with other, low-level, non-profesionals? Reddit doesn't seem to be the best place. I mean, for general questions, sure, but I can't exactly ask or discuss screenrecording techniques there, which video cards are best, etc, because they aren't friendly to it.
Is there a solid forum/forum(s) that I can head over to to gain some knowledge and have discussions? I'm decent with computers, but video formats, using handbrake, and the best techniques are fairly new to me.
Stuff I want to get better at:
- best settings for screen recording. Best tips for PC/OS settings to ensure a good, uninterrupted record.
- how to reduce filesize into a nice torrent without reducing quality (my files are pretty big)
- best hardware/drivers to get the best result. I don't have a lot of money but I'm willing to switch, say a video card if it helps.
Appreciate any advice/direction. I don't want to upload shit content.
I know the best advice is "don't try as a little guy, let the pros capture it and find a way to get it" but my situation is unique. I tend to be interested in rare content that isn't mainstream, so I do need to do it myself. Oftentimes the content I want just isn't out there. Quality doesn't need to be top notch (720p is OK, for example), but it needs to be decent and watchable.
