IND VS PAK, Cricket World Cup 2023: Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav triggered a stunning Pakistan collapse and shared four wickets in India’s dominant victory over their archrivals at the 2023 World Cup on Saturday. The seven-wicket win in front of a crowd of more than 100,000 fans at Narendra Modi Stadium was India’s eighth consecutive victory over Pakistan in World Cups in a streak that began in 1992.
Bumrah took 2/19 in seven overs and Kuldeep picked 2/35 in 10 overs as Pakistan crashed from 155/2 (29.3 overs) to 191 all out in 42.5 overs. Apart from Kuldeep and Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja all got two wickets each.
Then, Indian captain Rohit Sharma blazed a 36-ball half-century and Shreyas Iyer provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten fifty of his own as India raced to the victory line. Rohit scored 86 runs off 63 balls, including six fours and six sixes, as India finished with 192/3 (30.3 overs).
Shreyas got to his half-century with a boundary, which was also the winning run, finishing unbeaten on 53 off 62 balls. India leads the table now with six points — ahead of New Zealand on net run-rate — after three straight wins. After their first loss of the tournament, Pakistan has four points from three games and is fourth in the points table.
Rohit Sharma’s captaincy to be hailed
It was not more than a year ago that Rohit took charge of India in the 2022 Asia Cup as full-time captain. Though he had won the trophy in 2018, he was not the regular skipper then. In 2022, the pressure on his shoulders was visible. His on-field persona during some of the games raised a few questions about his temperament and handling of youngsters in the side.
However, Rohit got better at the job the longer he did it. There was a stark difference in his body language in the T20 World Cup later in 2022 in Australia where he seemed a lot calmer and jovial. He was a lot more astute tactically too. He also started to become more ruthless and made calls based on his gut feeling.
A superb win
A special appreciation for #TeamIndia bowlers from captain Rohit Sharma

Safe to say he looked like the captain who captains Mumbai Indians.
Here’s how the ODI World Cup 2023 Points Table read after the IND VS PAK clash
This game gave the Indians a massive NRR boost something which will be equivalent to another win not that India might need that cushion in the future the way things have been going for them but it is better to be safe. It will also put a massive dent for Pakistan and it will be hard for them to recover from this.
After this emphatic victory, the Men in Blue will be hoping to win their fourth consecutive match in the ODI World Cup 2023.
