Far Cry 4 creative director Alex Hutchinson has addressed the minor furore which arose recently over Far Cry 4's box art.
The box's central image, which features a lighter-skinned, blonde-haired man sitting on a desecrated statue while resting his hand on a kneeling darker-skinned man, was interpreted as racist by parts of the video game community.
Responding to a Gamesindustry.biz article on the controversy, Hutchinson set things straight via Twitter.
"Just so it's clear for those jumping to conclusions: He's not white and that's not the player."
Similar vocal concerns over racism were leveled at Far Cry 3 writer Jeffrey Yohalem back in 2012, who went on to defend the game's plot as subversive.
Earlier today, Far Cry 4 story details were accidentally posted on Uplay, revealing insight into its characters and plot.
