In a heartfelt plea, Australian cricket star David Warner has requested the return of his baggy green Australian cricket caps, which mysteriously went missing from his backpack on the eve of his final Test match against Pakistan. The veteran batsman expressed his sentimentality towards the caps and urged anyone with information to come forward.

Missing Caps Amid Transit to Sydney
In an Instagram video, Warner revealed that the caps were taken from his backpack during transit to Sydney for Australia’s third Test against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The bags were reportedly freighted via Qantas, and despite extensive efforts, the caps remain unaccounted for.

“This is my last resort to do this,” Warner said in the video, expressing the emotional significance of the missing baggy greens. He detailed the steps taken to locate the caps, including reviewing CCTV footage and contacting the Quay West Hotel where the team stayed.

Warner emphasized the sentimental value of the baggy greens, revealing that they were stored in his backpack alongside gifts for his daughters. The caps hold immense personal significance for the 37-year-old, who has been a linchpin opener for Australia for over a decade.

Appeal to the Culprit
“If it is the backpack you really wanted, I have a spare one here, you won’t get into trouble,” Warner appealed to the unidentified person who took the backpack. He urged them to reach out to Cricket Australia or himself through social media, promising a spare backpack in exchange for the return of the cherished baggy green caps.

The Sydney Test, commencing on Wednesday, marks David Warner’s final red ball appearance for Australia. The cricket star, who has been a vital part of the Australian lineup, announced his retirement from one-day cricket during a press conference on Monday. However, he confirmed his availability for the T20 format.

The upcoming Sydney Test holds immense significance for Warner as he bids farewell to red ball cricket. The match against Pakistan is expected to be an emotional occasion for both the player and cricket fans, marking the end of an illustrious Test career.
