Over the festive period, Coffee Stain Studios announced that Satisfactory has now sold over 5 million copies of the game globally. In the update video the Swedish team posted on the 24th December, they announced this incredible new milestone and teased new content soon for the hit-factory building simulator.
This news comes after the games recently released Update 8 which made the game one of the first indie titles to upgrade to Unreal Engine 5, heralding a new era of visual and performance enhancements to the game. Since its launch in 2019, Satisfactory has amassed a huge global following and has achieved a staggering 97% positive on Steam reviews.
Satisfactory Unreal Engine 5 Upgrade:
The shift to a new version of the Unreal Engine enables a range of performance and visual upgrades which will continue to be fine-tuned overtime. Players can enable Unreal Engine 5’s global illumination lighting, better known as Lumen, for stunning lighting quality. This new feature uses sophisticated techniques to provide more accurate and realistic lighting.
About Satisfactory:
Satisfactory, Coffee Stain’s first game since Goat Simulator, is a vast first-person factory builder set on an exotic alien planet. Playable for 1-4 players, Satisfactory focuses on space exploration and the freedom to build complex, unlimited structures. Satisfactory launched in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 19th 2019.
