Tracks from Bleachers, Blur and Taking Back Sunday are also coming to ‘Fortnite Festival’

Fortnite has confirmed another crossover with Coachella Festival.

To celebrate the 2022 festival, Fortnite launched a number of “music reactive” outfits and they’re making a return this year.

Both the Horizon and Cosma outfits are based on Coachella’s iconic astronaut and will be available in the Fortnite shop from 1am BST, April 12 until April 21. They will be accompanied by the Interstellar Butterfly Back Bling, the Coachella Pulse Pickaxe and the Soft Synth Wrap.

All items will react to music played in-game, while the Horizon and Cosma outfits will also have a Lego version.

Fortnite Festival will also be introducing two new instruments (the Mirage Glimmer Guitar and Festival Keys Keytar) while the Jam Stage has been “Coachella-fied, complete with Coachella’s iconic Le Grande Wheel, Spectra Tower, and more,” according to a blog post.

A number of new jam tracks from Coachella performers are also set to be added. Check out the new additions below:

Bleachers – ‘I Wanna Get Better’
Blur – ‘Song 2’
Doja Cat – ‘Paint The Town Red’
Eslabon Armado, Peso Pluma – ‘Ella Baila Sola’
Lil Uzi Vert ft. Oh Wonder – ‘The Way Life Goes’
PinkPantheress & Ice Spice – ‘Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2’
Sublime – ‘What I Got’
Taking Back Sunday – ‘MakeDamnSure’

Between April 11 and April 18, content creators in the Support-A-Creator (SAC) program can also use these tracks on YouTube and earn money, without fear of a takedown notice.

Two new Coachella-inspired emotes are also coming to Fortnite. The Rebellious Emote features Doja Cat’s ‘Paint The Town Red’ and will see players move their arms, legs, and hips as part of a dance move created by Liam Maughan while the Sonic Surfer Emote is inspired by Sabrina Carpenter hit ‘Feather’.

To celebrate J Balvin’s upcoming performance at Coachella, Fortnite is also set to launch the Inferno Skeleton Balvin Outfit on April 18.

Last year, Fortnite launched a dedicated Coachella Island and this year sees the introduction of Sahara Island, “a new virtual stage and musical mini-game that will feature takeovers from Coachella artists Grimes and DJ Snake. Created with UEFN, the virtual replica will debut alongside the festival’s new physical Sahara Tent, giving Fortnite players a Coachella experience that mirrors the music & art taking place IRL.”

“In our pursuit to bring Coachella to a broader online audience, we’re activating across Fortnite and the Epic Games ecosystem to create new in-game music experiences that allow online fans to get closer to the festival than ever before,” said Sam Schoonover, innovation lead for Coachella. “This partnership enables us to expand the festival virtually in ways that aren’t possible anywhere else, making Coachella more accessible to fans around the globe.”

The first weekend of Coachella starts April 12 with the two-weekend event set to see headline performances from Tyler, The Creator, Lana Del Rey and Doja Cat alongside a special appearance by No Doubt.

Other acts announced to perform include Blur, Peso Pluma, J Balvin, Ice Spice, Khruangbin, Jhené Aiko, Lil Uzi Vert, Justice, Deftones, Sublime, Jungle, Dom Dolla, Bleachers and Peggy Gou.
