Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears is recovering after being hospitalised with a bacterial infection.
The Toxic hitmaker's father, Jamie, was recently admitted to hospital with a bacterial infection, multiple outlets confirmed on Friday.
According to People, Jamie, 71, became seriously ill and was admitted to a hospital as a result. The former business owner has since been moved to an infectious disease outpatient facility to recover.
Jamie's health scare comes five years after he was hospitalised in Las Vegas in 2018 after his colon "spontaneously ruptured". The medical emergency resulted in Jamie undergoing emergency surgery before being admitted to hospital for 28 days, according to a statement from Britney's team.
Jamie is also the father of Jamie Lynn, 32, and son Bryan, 46, whom he shares with his ex-wife Lynne.
Up until two years ago, the retired construction business owner had control of Britney's life for 13 years as her estate conservator. Jamie was suspended as his daughter's conservator in 2021 and the legal agreement ended shortly after.
The pop star has maintained her distance from her father since the end of her conservatorship. They are still embroiled in a series of legal issues as a result of the arrangement.
