Overview
Bangladesh announced their arrival at the global stage by reaching the semi-final in the last edition of Champions Trophy in 2017, and will be eyeing to take that achievement as an inspiration ahead of the tournament.
Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain insisted that they are eyeing to be the champions but if their recent performances are taken into consideration it seems like a mountain to climb for the sub-continental nation. Unable to compete against the bigger nations as they managed to in the past, and with the absence of Shakib al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, the odds look stacked against Bangladesh.
ODI form guide
While the ODI format was said to be their favoured format in the past, it is not currently the case for Bangladesh managing to earn only three wins out of nine ODIs they played in 2024.
With further inspection, they have managed to only one win from their last five outings that includes being clean swept away in the three-match ODI series against West Indies at their own backyard.

Bangladesh will be looking forward to see their batting unit in take the attack to the bowlers. They have struggled to put over 300 runs on the board on a regular basis providing lesser runs to play with for a bowling unit, which is going from strength to strength with passing days.
Group Stage Schedule:
Feb 20: vs India, Dubai
Feb 24: vs New Zealand, Rawalpindi
Feb 27: vs Pakistan, Rawalpindi
Bangladesh would be immensely happy with the scheduling of the group stage as they will play the opening game against India in Dubai and later move to Pakistan. It will provide them with ample time to prepare for the remaining two matches in Rawalpindi, where they earned their historic Test series win over the last year. Bangladesh had always fancied their chances against New Zealand and will be eyeing it once more playing in the sub-continent. How they will fare largely depends on their performance in the opening game as Bangladesh are known to struggle if they don't get the momentum right at the start of a tournament.
