Ariana Grande has requested fans to stop sending "hateful messages" to her loved ones.
The 7 Rings singer took to social media specifically to ask her fans to cease harassing people she loves, after her new album Eternal Sunshine led to speculation it was about her estranged husband Dalton Gomez.
"I just wanted to say anyone that is sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album is not supporting me and is absolutely doing the polar opposite of what I would ever encourage," Ariana, 30, said in a series of posts to Instagram.
She added that fans were, "also entirely misinterpreting the intention behind the music."
Ariana went on to let fans know that by sending unpleasant messages to her ex, they were making her feel bad.
"I ask that you please do not. It is not how to support me. It is the opposite," she continued.
And she added that although the new album addressed difficult subjects, it had been made with love.
"Although this album captures a lot of painful moments, it also is woven together with a line of deep, sincere love," the singer explained. "If you cannot hear that, please listen more closely."
Lyrics such as, “Yet you played me like Atari/Now it's like I'm lookin' in the mirror/Hope you feel alright when you're in her,” have led to speculation Ariana's new music is about Dalton.
Ariana and Dalton filed for divorce in October 2023. She is currently dating Broadway star Ethan Slater.
