India defeated Pakistan, their bitter rivals, in a much-awaited ICC World Cup match. The game did not, however, come without controversy. Indian supporters can be heard yelling “Jai Shri Ram” at Pakistani wicketkeeper Muhammad Rizwan as he makes his way back to the pavilion in a now-viral video from the Narendra Modi Stadium.
When the incident happened, Rizwan was walking down the aisle following his wicket by Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The ‘Jai Shri Ram’ shout and verbal abuse were the ways in which the assembled Indian supporters showed their feelings.
-Rizwan prays on the ground every now and then, but that's okay.
-He often speaks about his religion on the field and in press conferences, but that's okay.
-What's not okay is Hindus chanting 'Jai Shree Ram'.

In addition, chants such as “Hum Tumhare Baap hen” and “Naam Mitao Babar ka,” which alluded inadvertently to the destruction of the Babri Masjid, were heard from spectators within the Indian stadium.
Different views have been expressed in response to the Rizwan incident; some people have defended the Ahmedabad crowd’s behavior. On the other hand, many other people have expressed their disgust at the conduct of the Ahmedabad fans, citing previous incidents in which Indian supporters behaved well in a sporting manner when interacting with their bitter opponents.
Indian Politician reacted as fans taunt Pakistan’s Muhammad Rizwan with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ chants in Ahmedabad
Several politicians have reacted after a video surfaced on social media of spectators chanting “Jai Shri Ram” at Pakistan wicket-keeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan.
Reacting to the video, DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin described the behaviour as “unacceptable”.
“India is renowned for its sportsmanship and hospitality. However, the treatment meted out to Pakistan players at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is unacceptable and a new low. Sports should be a unifying force between countries, fostering true brotherhood. Using it as a tool to spread hatred is condemnable,” Udhayanidhi Stalin said on social media platform X.

Indian lawyer files complaint against Rizwan for On-Field namaz during ICC World Cup
Rizwan had been playing well before the India-Pakistan match, amassing a half-century and a century in Pakistan’s World Cup matches against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka. But off the field, the batsman-wicketkeeper sparked controversy when he took to social media and thanked “brothers and sisters in Gaza” for Pakistan’s victory over Sri Lanka.
After the controversial tweet by Rizwan, certain sections of cricket fans raised concerns about his tweet on X and asked the ICC to reprimand him, with a journalist going on as far as to compare ICC’s decision regarding former India captain MS Dhoni wearing Indian Army insignia gloves and how they were asked to be removed during the ICC 2019 World Cup.
When wrong people are triggered by your action, it's mean you're on the right path Proud of you Rizwan

Indian lawyer Vineet Jindal has filed a complaint to the International Cricket Council (ICC) against Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Muhammad Rizwan for offering Namaz on the field.
Vineet Jindal — the same lawyer who filed a complaint against Pakistan presenter Zainab Abbas over her eight-year-old Tweet — sought legal action against the right-handed batter for offering Namaz on the field and voicing support for Gaza.
This act of Rizwan caused an uproar in Indian media but ICC decided to take no action since it was done outside the field in his personal capacity.
