But actor believes long-mooted project is happening
Ernie Hudson has said he hasn’t been offered a role in the much-mooted third Ghostbusters movie.
The actor appeared in the original 1984 film and its 1989 sequel but told TMZ.com he’s not been approached about reprising the role of Winston Zeddemore.
However, Hudson believes the project is going ahead after several delays.
“I haven’t seen anybody with any money, but I hear it’s happening, and I’ve been reading all the press stuff, and the fans have been telling me that it’s on,” he commented.
“I have no idea and I’m not waiting for it, but I’d love to see it happen.”
Ivan Reitman, who directed the previous Ghostbusters films, is ready to helm the third. However, the project is being held up by Bill Murray’s reluctance to reprise the role of Dr Peter Venkman.
Earlier this year, Murray told US radio DJ Howard Stern: “There’s a script somewhere, but I haven’t read it yet. I only made one sequel and it was Ghostbusters 2 and it didn’t end up the way it was presented.”
It is reported that Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, who wrote the first two films, are currently working on the script with the writers of the US version of The Office.
The pair also played the roles of Ray Stantz and Egon Spengler respectively in the films.
